We sat down with Tracy, one of our talented Poolers to learn more about her experience using Poolside.
What’s difficult about finding a job today?
Sometimes there is a big financial aspect to getting to an interview. I live in the South Suburbs [of Chicago] and there are just no jobs out there. So I’ll use $15 in gas just to get to the interview. Or take the train, which is just as much.
How did Poolside make your life easier throughout the job search?
I've never been offered transportation to get to my interview. The fact that I could relax and didn’t have to worry about the interview was great. Check you out, Poolside. That was a step above. Plus, the job you matched me to was actually hiring. I started the next day.
What mattered to you when finding your next job? How did Poolside help?
I needed to not spend 30% of my paycheck on transportation. And, the hours and availability mattered. At the job I found through Poolside, I only work days when my son is at school. And they’re flexible to the fact that I am a single parent, and understand that I have needs. Poolside looked at all those things.
What’s different about Poolside?
There are a lot of companies out there that say they’re helping people. You guys actually help people. We all feel that no one is looking out for us. You’re bridging unemployment gaps, and you’re actually being compassionate while doing it. That’s the real deal.
How has Poolside helped you think about what’s in store for your future?
[Before Poolside] I kept thinking about going to school to open a catering business. Poolside placed me in a catering job. All the things I’m learning now will relate to my future business. This job is exactly tailored to my lifestyle and the life I want for myself.

When it comes to recruiting candidates for Just Salad, what are some of your biggest challenges?
Number one is getting candidates in the door. Then it’s finding the right fit, which is challenging through traditional channels.
What got you interested in Poolside initially?
Other channels were simply not producing quality candidates. We also liked that Poolside allows you to post multiple jobs without charging a per position fee, which many platforms do.
